Richard Lui is a veteran journalist with over 30 years of experience in broadcast journalism, film, technology, and business. Currently an anchor at MSNBC/NBC News and formerly with CNN, he was the first Asian American male to anchor a daily national news show. Lui is the bestselling author of Enough About Me and the director of the award-winning documentaries Sky Blossom (2021) and UNCONDITIONAL (2023). His business career spans 20 years, including roles at Citibank, Oliver Wyman, and Mrs. Fields Cookies, along with launching six tech brands. He has served on boards in AI, gender equity, and human trafficking sectors and is a caregiving ambassador for organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association and AARP.
Karthick Ramakrishnan is the founder and director of AAPI Data, a publisher of demographic data and policy research on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and a researcher at UC Berkeley. He is the Strategy Lead for the Americas at the School of International Futures and Senior Advisor at States for the Future. Previously, he served as Executive Director of California 100 and associate dean at UC Riverside’s School of Public Policy, where he was also a professor for 19 years. Ramakrishnan has held leadership roles in academia, government, and philanthropy, including serving on the boards of The California Endowment, the U.S. Census Bureau’s National Advisory Committee, and the Asian American Alumni Association of Princeton. He has published seven books, most recently Citizenship Reimagined (2020) and Framing Immigrants (2016), and appeared in nearly 3,000 news stories. Ramakrishnan holds a BA from Brown University and a PhD from Princeton, and his work focuses on equitable futures and innovative governance.
