To mark the thirtieth anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women and the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action — deemed as the most progressive blueprint ever for advancing women’s rights — please join us for the screening of the Oscar-nominated Black Box Diaries, followed by a post-screening discussion with film director and protagonist Shiori Ito. Black Box Diaries, based on Shiori's best-selling memoir, offers a powerful first-hand account of her journey confronting and exposing the sexual violence she endured as a reporter. Her story highlights the ongoing struggle to end violence against women and girls, reminding us that this fight remains unfinished.
Don't miss this opportunity to engage in a meaningful conversation about actionable steps to combat gender-based violence and power abuse. Learn how we can advocate for stronger policies and practices to close the gap between gender-mainstreaming policies and their implementation.
