Are you an aspiring (or current) content creator, songwriter, designer, social media influencer, artist, writer, performer, or someone who loves God and desires to create meaningful content for His kingdom? Do you want encouragement, support, prayer, and fellowship on this journey?
My name is Joey, and I’m a professor of design and technology at Columbia University in NYC. For years, I’ve wanted to connect with, collaborate, and pray with like-minded creatives. Yet, I haven’t found enough communities where we can truly support one another in our faith and creative work. After much prayer, I’ve decided to start one.
The vision that God has put on my heart for NYCCC (NYC Christian Creatives) is to inspire, equip, and unite Christian creatives and content creators in NYC to glorify God through impactful storytelling, artistry, and innovation. Let’s build together a welcoming and supportive space for collaboration, encouragement, and idea-sharing among creatives who seek to integrate their faith into their artistic, entrepreneurial and professional endeavors.
Like many of you, I’ve wrestled with how to bring faith and creativity together—whether it’s creating YouTube videos, experimenting with generative AI tools, songwriting and composing music on my guitar and DAW, designing games and media that teach some aspect of who God is, faith-based Instagram stories, or even trying to launch an Etsy shop with T-shirts and stickers. While these endeavors are exciting, if we do it alone they often feel isolating, leading to burnout or lack of momentum.
We’re better together! Our mission with NYCCC is to provide a supportive community for like-minded Christian creatives to grow spiritually, refine their craft, and create in ways that reflect the love and truth of Christ.
If this resonates with you, I’d love for you to join us! We’ll start with humble beginnings and pray for God to lead us for next steps. We’ll kick off with a hybrid meetup (online via Zoom + and/or in person in Koreatown area) to get to know one another and brainstorm ideas and plans for future meetups, workshops, and events.
